Alcohol testing is currently being done using breath
alcohol testing (BAT) and is less intrusive than blood or urine testing.
The National Highway Safety Administration requires alcohol testing as
do other federal agencies. Most employers, even those without safety sensititve
positions, are utilizing the Drug Free Workplace Act and employing alcohol
and drug testing on a pre- employment, post-accident, and "for cause" basis.
